Apologies for failing to post anything constructive lately. I have a pretty hefty Top-Secret-Project that I am working on but which is sort of taking longer than I expected due to various reasons, so I promise I'm still around. Just busy!
Yesterday I was sitting around on Lunapike in LFG (my latest main hangout), hoping to weasel my way into a group, when I received a kind whisper from somebody asking if I maybe wanted to go to Karazhan and did I consider myself geared for it? I replied that I was still a bit undergeared in my own estimation but that I knew the fights and would love to go if the group was okay with it. Images of grouping with a fellow blogger and going in there with greens and coming out with purples danced in my head, but sadly the group filled up without me. Ah well. I really need to gear up more anyway. Though I am rather proud of going from 1150 to 1325 AP and 17% crit to 20% crit in the past week, but I find my lack of hit rating disturbing. This must be rectified.
I really do enjoy the "gearing up" process. Am I nuts or what? =P Now if only Kalithresh would drop me another Beast Lord for my Set Bonus and Murmur would hand me his Sonic Spear...
P.S. Yes I have a post about "gearing up at 70" in the works. It's the last in the "So You Want to Be a Hunter" series so I want it to be good. I apologize for my heinus slowness!

I love gearing up too, it's so much fun. It's fine-tuning your character to turn into well-balanced character that performs well.
Heyhey! I check my google reader and what do I see but a little nod from Pike! :D
Looks like I have to get back to updating my guild-blog now. Been letting it sit quiet for too long.
Any time I'm running heroics or Kara, I'll be keeping an eye out for ya so we can get Lunapike ready for Northrend. It was just my first run with a new guild last night, and didn't have much pull in who gets invited. Still would have been cool.
Getting yourself decked out in all blues is a blast. You are full of energy, and you are acquiring new pieces almost everytime you log in. Its great!
I can't tell my guildies how I got my Sonic Spear. If I did, I would /gkicked in a second...
But, I'll tell you! >.>
Ok, it really isn't all that. I just got lucky. I had never been in SLabbs before, and an aquaintance psted me about filling in for the last fight.
I kid you not, the Mummer fight! I was the only hunter in the group, and the spear dropped for me. I wasn't going to take it, thinking someone may want to DE it; but the group all agreed that I could take it. I've been blessed multiple times in this manner. I'm not complaining, one bit. Oh, and the character that has it is named, "Trellis" on Moon Guard server.

Gearing up is always an awesome goal to push for. The strive to be stronger, better, faster (/sing!) and watching those stats rise after all your hard work is such a high~
I'm not a gear addict, I swear. :(
The easiest way to get hit rating up is to sacrifice agi/ap/crit and gem for hit. The other way to get about 30 hit is to find an engineer that can make Biznicks 247x128 Accurascope.

The pattern and the Lava cores only drop in molten core, so it can be very rare and expensive on some servers. In my experience, if you can find an engineer with the pattern and farm the mats yourself, they'll usually only charge 50-100g to make it for you. You can 10 man MC if you're careful not to over pull, less people if everyone is well geared.
At 80 I'll be farming MC solo for mats for these things so I have an easy way to stay hit capped.
